The Hill and the Hole is a feature adaptation of Fritz Leiber's short story of the same name, originally published in "Unknown Worlds" in 1942. A ghost story at heart, the film follows Tom Digby, a freelance archaeologist for the Bureau of Land Management, who stumbles upon a strange mound on the outskirts of ranch. After a violent altercation with the ranchers, Tom seeks shelter in the local town, befriending the librarian, Layne Mead. Driven by an odd obsession with the mound, Tom convinces Layne to help him dig further into the town’s history, revealing a secret that pulls him deeper into the unknown.
Principal photography has been completed in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado and the film will be available in Spring of 2020.
